ASHAWO POEM BY ADEAGBO FOLAKEMI

Ashawo
Are you the broken one
Wounded severely and severally
Damaged by the love you seek
From your chosen one

Ashawo
Are you the lonely one
Without care, without love from infancy
Tossed about by the winds of life
Separated from your beloved ones

Ashawo
Are you the craving one
With an insatiable appetite
Consumed by the force of eros in your body
Ready always for the lustful ones

Ashawo
Are you the needy one
Without a means of livelihood
Rejected despite your intellects and skills
And you sell to the wealthy ones

Ashawo
Are you the simple one
Influenced by the perverted ones
Addicted to a path you never chose
And you are used by the crafty ones

Ashawo
You are the priced one
All shapes and sizes you have seen
Entered into, spilled into, sucked and grabbed
By them who have no love for you

Ashawo
Please love me
All you seek I have
What you need I can give
I had you in mind
When I was pierced on the Cross
I paid your price
